Busy weekend!

We had a wild weekend! Saturday was sunny for Abby's last soccer game. It was cold, and they lost, but still worthy of an end of season celebration. Go Killer Dragonflies!

Sunday we tried to take Kate to her first swim lesson, but (I'll skip the long story) she didn't even make it in the water. Momentarily devestated, but she got over it quickly. Sunday night the girls thought they'd try a sister sleepover in Abby's room. Again, good intentions...but Kate eventually ended up in her own bed and Abby in with Mommy. Nobody slept particularly well.

Today was a Mommy/Daughter day and we hit the mall to visit the American Girl store for the first time. Managed to leave with only a list for Santa, but it was a close call. Santa happened to be hanging out in the mall, so that was convenient for sharing the aforementioned (long) list.

Whew! We will all be sleeping well tonight - and on to the work/school week!

Kate vs. Abby

Both two and in the same cute jean dress. I think they are related!

Hooray for Halloween!

Wow, what a wild, wet and fun Halloween. Abby - the "Mysterious Mermaid" - trick or treated like crazy with her buddies while Mommy and Kate - the "Beautiful Butterfly" - trailed behind. Kate's quote from her Harvest Parade at school earlier that day..."I wuv it when people give me candy!" :)
Kate on her Harvest Parade

I don't mind the rain if it means CANDY!

I also enjoyed the puddles

And posing for the camera

Lovely mermaid and her seaweed shawl

Ready to go!

Maybe I can fly?

Watch out, here we come!

Pumpkin Carving!

Granddad and Grammy helped us carve a fabulous kitty pumpkin - can't wait to make her glow!
The carving crew

Gooey, gooey pumpkin guts!

Kate's turn to dig

Oh, and do you like my pretty tattoo?

Party tricks

During dinner last night Kate decided to do party tricks. Her version of snoring. :)

Spookley the Square Pumpkin

We made brownies and decorated them like a pumpkin. Since the pan was square, it was a great way to bring "Spookley the Square Pumpkin" to life! And then we ate him.

Hair salon

We turn our backs for a minute these days and the girls are getting fancy. Kate insists that everything she wear have a skirt, including PJ's. Wow. This was a "hair salon" day.
